Paediatric dentistry or pedodontics is a branch of dentistry dealing with the treatment of teeth in children, prevention of jaw anomalies and diseases, as well as promotion of health education, but primarily the development of trust between a dentist and a child. Paediatric dentist promotes oral cavity and teeth health in children, but also serves as a source of information for the parents. One of the methods for cavity prevention in children is fissure sealing done with composite materials. The procedure does not require drilling or removal of hard dental tissue, so it is not unpleasant for the child. This method has proved to be very effective in cavity prevention.
